Earthquake jolts parts of Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 31 (IBNS): An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 struck Kashmir on Wednesday afternoon, however, no loss of life was reported.

The earthquake has also been reported in Delhi, UP, Punjab, Afghanistan and Pakistan and parts of Jammu and Chenab region.

The tremors were repeatedly felt for around 1 minute.

According to Indian Meteorological Department, the magnitude of the quake was 6.1 and the epicentre of the quake was Rudraprayag in
Uttarakhand.

However, according to EMSC, the location of the tremor was Hindukush region of Afghanistan and its depth was 186 Km.

Latest reports said that under construction Jahangir Chowk-Rambagh fly over suffered a minor damage due to earthquake.
