Noida, May 30 (IBNS): A health camp was organized at Community Centre Sector 16 Noida on Sunday. The one day camp provided free diagnosis and consultation from 10 AM to 2 PM.

The camp was organized by DLF Foundation and HLFPPT (Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust). The theme of the health camp was ‘Life Style Disease’.

It was aimed to provide the underprivileged a free check-up so that the aim of a disease free healthy society is achieved.  Aligned to the theme of the camp and to facilitate diagnosis tests like Sugar, Hemoglobin, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, ECG.

A health awareness talk was also delivered at the camp. Large number of slum dwellers from JJ clusters 16, 17 and 18 Noida turned up for the health camp. Total of 200 number of people were benefited from the same.

The Health Camp was organized under ‘Merrymobile’ – a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) that offers primary healthcare services at the doorstep of the undeserved communities. The Merrymobile is an initiative of DLF Foundation and HLFPPT launched in January this year, caters to the health needs of residents living in and around three slum clusters (in Sector 16, 17 and 18) and three villages (Harola, Chalera and Bhangel) in Noida.

It provides an array of healthcare services, including basic diagnostic tests and referral services. It also conducts awareness among community members, especially on Maternal and Child Health, encouraging them to develop positive health-seeking behavior.

Merrymobile has so far reached out to more than 3,400 patients since it was flagged off in January.

“At DLF Foundation, we have always pressed upon sustainability. To achieve our goal of a healthy society, it is pertinent that a healthy lifestyle is adopted; a multi-pronged strategy is adopted in integrating preventive and promotive healthcare in addition to curative services. Most of the underprivileged of the location are labourers and daily wage earners who do not have the time or resource to tend to their own health. The camp was organized to serve them holistically and to take us a step closer to general wellness.” Ritesh Sinha, Director- CSR, DLF Ltd.
