Delhi govt stipulates rate of Swine Flu test by private labs at Rs 4500
New Delhi, Feb 18 (IBNS): As the country continues to remain gripped with the H1N1 influenza, the Delhi government on Wednesday placed a cap on the price of tests for the H1N1 virus.
"Delhi govt stipulates the rate of Swine Flu test by pvt. labs in Delhi at Rs 4500/-," AAP tweeted.
"It had come to notice of Delhi govt that pathology labs and private hospitals were taking irrationality high charges for Swine Flu test," Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi government noted.
Taking cognizance of the matter, the Delhi government has issued an order limiting the maximum charges of Swine Flu detection test to Rs 4500.
It has also warned private hospitals of action if found charging more than the stipulated cap.
"If any private hospital or pathology lab is found charging more than Rs 4500/- fr Swine Flu detection test, action will be taken on them," the AAP post said.
From Jan 1 till Feb 14 this year, 7647 cases and 557 deaths due to Influenza A H1N1 from different parts of the country have been recorded.
