COVID-19 in Maharashtra: 75 new cases detected in Thane

Thane/UNI: Seventy-five new COVID-19 cases were detected in this district hence taking the pandemic tally to 1,183, official bulletin stated.

In the limits of Thane and Navi Mumbai civic bodies, there are 389 and 314 cases, respectively, while there were 195 and 171 infected individuals in the respective suburbs of Kalyan-Dombivili and Mira-Bhayandar, the bulletien said on Sunday night.

The remaining cases are from Thane Rural (39), Badlapur (37), Bhiwandi (18), and 10 each from Ulhasnagar and Ambernath.

Navi Mumbai's APMC market has beome a growing cause of concern as several merchants and workers have contracted the contagion. In its' relentless bid to contain further spread of the pandemic, the administration has diagnosed more than 4,000 people in the market.

In distant Palghar district, tally of confirmed cases stand at 177 besides 10 fatalities, the bulletin added.
