6.5 earthquake hits Indonesia

Padang, June 2 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter Scale hit Indonesia on Thursday, reports said.

The earthquake hit the Southern Sumatra region in the country.

India's IMD has called the intensity of the quake as 'Moderate'.

The epicentre of the quake was located at a depth of 50 kms and latitude 2 degrees south and longitude 100.7 degrees east.

No casualty has been reported so far. The earthquake hit the Southern Sumatra region in the country.
