5.4 earthquake hits Meghalaya, no casualty

Kolkata, Apr 5 (IBNS): An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale hit East Garo Hills in Meghalaya with the tremors of it being felt in parts of West Bengal.

The earthquake was felt at 13:12 hours.

The epicentre of the quake was located at latitude 25.9 degrees north and longitude 90.4 degrees east, the  India Meteorological Department (IMD) website said.

The depth of the quake was 10 kms.

Tremors were felt in Alipuarduar, Malda, Coochbehar, Jalpaiguri, North and South Dinajpur in the northern part of West Bengal..

No casualty has been reported so far.
