ZEE appoints Amrit Thomas as Chief Data Officer

Mumbai/IBNS: ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) Tuesday said it has appointed Amrit Thomas as the Chief Data Officer to improve its overall capabilities in data analytics across all aspects of decision making.

Thomas will report to Nitin Mittal, President – Technology & Data, ZEE and will be located out of the technology and innovation centre in Bengaluru.

Befor joining ZEE, Thomas was the CEO, Strategic Advisor and Investor for a retail-tech start-up.

His previous stints also include Diego, where he worked for 13 years and was responsible for the digital and marketing transformation of the organization, and Unilever Hindustan where he led the western region personal product sales team and later, the beverages business of the company where he headed the western region personal product sales team and later, the beverages business of the company.

In 2020, Zee had announced setting up of a technology hub in Bengaluru to enhance data and technology capabilities.

Zee said, last year, it is looking at hiring 500 talent and had on-boarded over 120 experts to boost its technological prowess.
