Unilever bets big on wellness — Grüns acquisition signals major shift

| @indiablooms | Apr 10, 2026, at 05:55 pm

Global consumer goods major Unilever has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Grüns, a fast-growing player in the nutritional supplements space in the United States.

Founded in 2023 by Chad Janis, Grüns aims to make daily nutrient intake simple and enjoyable, offering a focused portfolio of science-backed wellness products.

Commenting on the acquisition, Jostein Solheim, CEO of Unilever Wellbeing, said the company is “thrilled” to welcome Grüns into the fold. He noted that Grüns stands out in the greens supplement category for combining product efficacy with user experience, creating strong consumer trust and engagement.

“Our customers are the reason Grüns exists, and this partnership is ultimately for them. With Unilever behind us, we can reach more people, move faster, and continue raising the bar on what an enjoyable daily wellness habit can be,” said Chad Janis, Founder and CEO of Grüns.

Grüns currently distributes its products through retail and direct-to-consumer channels across the United States.

The transaction is expected to close later this year, subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
