Kolkata: British premium motorcycle brand Triumph Motorcycles on Friday launched its store in Kolkata, strengthening its dealership network in the city.

This is the 14th store of the brand in India so far.

The company appointed Speed Motocorp to steer its premium motorcycle business in Kolkata.

The dealership will be called Speed Triumph.

Speaking on the network expansion, Shoeb Farooq, Business Head – Triumph Motorcycles India told IBNS, “With demand for premium motorcycles gaining momentum in the country, we are excited to recalibrate our Network in Kolkata. Kolkata is a crucial market for luxury motorcycles and is growing."

He further added, “We had a great financial year in terms of sales attributed to new launches and overall consolidation of the brand. We are poised for further growth in the coming year and look forward to welcoming the new gen riders into the exciting world of Triumph Motorcycles.”

"This is the 14th store overall in the country,'" he said.

He said West Bengal is a potential market for the company.

Speaking on the growth of the company in the past 12 months, he said: "We have registered growth of 30 per cent in the last 12 months."

"It is much larger than the overall growth in the industry. I think the next 12 months will also be similar for us," he said.

He said the company expects to witness another growth by 25 to 30 percent in the next 12 months.

With the recent launches of the much-awaited Trident 660, Tiger Sport 660 and Tiger 1200, the British marquee brand has further strengthened its portfolio of motorcycles that now includes 22 models catering to enthusiasts and the new-gen riders.
