Sixth Electric Vehicle Expo East 2018 inaugurated in Kolkata
Kolkata, May 16 (IBNS): Eastern India's eco-friendly Electric Vehicle Technology Expo '6thEVEXPO EAST 2018' was inaugurated in Kolkata on Friday.
The three-day event has showcased the pollution free 2, 3 & 4 wheeled e-vehicles like E-Rickshaws, E-Carts, E-bikes, E-scooters, E-bicycles as well as E-loaders, batteries, charging platforms, parts and accessories from national and international companies.
Some new launches or products at the EXPO are Pubang Etron Electric Motor Pvt. Ltd., Terra Motors India Pvt Ltd, Exicom Power Solutions, Okinawa Scooters and Prag Motors.
Rajiv Arora, organizer of EV EXPO EAST 2018, said ''After the success of the previous 5 editions of EV Expo that is organised alternately between Delhi and Kolkata, we are happy to bring the 6th EV EXPO East 2018 to Kolkata this year. This Expo takes forward the Vision of Govt. of India to make India a 100% Electric Vehicle Nation by 2030.
"With the recent announcement by Nitin Gadkari that Electric Vehicles shall be given green number plates and preferential parking, toll concessions and faster depreciation benefits, and if proposal to allow 16-18 years to drive electric scooters is accepted, the demand of e- vehicles shall see a quantum jump".
Jeetender Sharma, MD, Okinawa Scooters said “EV EXPO EAST 2018 is the latest event at which we could showcase the efforts Okinawa has made and the solutions we have developed to usher in the e-vehicle revolution in India. We have successfully busted the myth that electric vehicles don’t perform as well as their counterparts run on conventional fossil fuels. EV EXPO was organised between May 11 and 13 in Kolkata.
