Sensex drops 15.44 points as market closes

The BSE Sensex on Friday fell marginally by 15.44 points to settle at 73142.80 on profit booking by local operators.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) eased 4.75 points to 22,212.70.

The NSE registered days high and low at 22,297.50 and 22186.10 points, respectively.

The Sensex opened at 73394.44, surging 236 points. It rallied 255 points at 73413.93 days high.

Later' it dropped 166 points at 73022, days low, before closing at 73142.80, falling 15.44 points from its previous close.

The midcap gained 0.25 pc and the smallcap gained 0.53 pc.

In 30 scrips, 13 advanced while 17 declined.

The losers were HCL Technology by 1.42 pc to Rs 1622.85, Maruti Suzuki by 1.32 pc to Rs 11521, Asian Paints by 1.12 pc to Rs 2984.80 and TCS by 0.96 pc to Rs 4047.25.

The gainers were Bajaj Finserv by 1.43 pc to Rs 1616.50, M&M by 1.13 pc to Rs 1930.20, and Titan by 1.08 pc to Rs 3691.25.
