Reliance Jio completes one year

Mumbai, Sep 5 (IBNS): Telecom operator Reliance Jio, which has surprised its customers with number of benefits in last 12 months, officially completed one year on Tuesday, media reports said.

Since its launch, Jio has shaken the telecom industry with lowest data charge and unlimited calling benefits.

The journey which had started one year ago, offered unlimited calls and internet services till December 31, 2016 and later extended to March 31, 2017.

The company then came up with several offers post initial unlimited period.

Making yet another revolution in the telecom industry, Reliance Jio launched smart phone in the market virtually at a free of cost price effectively in July.

The telecom company announced the availability of smart phones at Rs 1, 500 which will be refunded in three years time.

Adding to that, the Jio phone users will get an unlimited data at 153 rupees per month. Jio would also offer free voice calls.

The phone has 2.4 inch display and supports  4G VoLTE for calls and data.

The announcement was made by The Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani at the company's 40th Annual General Meeting.
