Nitish plays down controversy over Bihar tableau not getting space in Republic Day function

Khagaria/UNI: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today downplayed the controversy over the Centre's refusal to include the tableau of Bihar in the Republic Day function in New Delhi on January 26.

While addressing a public meeting during his 'Jal Jeevan Hariyali' yatra here, Nitish said that the issue of tableau should not be hyped.

There had been a number of good works across the country during the last one year and several other states and union territories are given the chance to dispaly their achievemnet through their tableaus on the occasion of Republic Day, he added.

Bihar's tableau themed on 'Jal Jeevan Hariyali' mission launched in the state did not get space in Republic Day function.

The chief minister said the good initiatives of the state to protect the environment will eventually have impact and there will be many more opportunities in future when the mission will get recognition,

He added that debate on such issues should be avoided as they are meaningless and unproductive.
