Kolkata, July 17 (IBNS): The $ 16.9 billion Mahindra & Mahindra group’s agri- business vertical entered into the edible oil segment with the launch of its NuPro virgin mustard oil on Friday.

The mustard oil was launched in Kolkata and Siliguri.

“West Bengal is one of the major mustard oil consuming state, so we would want to establish ourselves in Bengal before we move deeper in to the eastern region. With NuPro, through our 'Farm to Fork' model, we have entered the branded edible oils segment with an aim to connect farmers with discerning Indian customers who look for pure chemical free products” said Ashok Sharma, President and Chief Executive, Agri and Africa & South Asia operation.

“Evaluating the market we would also like to offer our customers other variants of edible oils in future. We are hopeful in the upcoming years we will be in the top three edible oil companies in India” he added.

NuPro mustard oil is priced at Rs 144 for one litre pouch.
