New Delhi: Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) has officially changed its name to Jindal Steel Ltd, following government approval, the company said in an exchange filing on Tuesday, PTI reported.

The name change, which took effect on 22 July 2025, was cleared by the Registrar of Companies under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.

The company clarified that it will continue to operate as a public limited entity limited by shares under its new name.

“The change in name reflects our sharpened focus on the core steel business and aligns with our long-term strategic direction as a future-ready steel enterprise,” the company said.

It added that the simplified name enhances brand clarity and strengthens its identity both domestically and internationally.

The filing noted that the change has been carried out in compliance with Rule 29 of the Companies (Incorporation) Rules, 2014, and that the company’s Corporate Identification Number (CIN) remains unchanged.

Jindal Steel has significant operations in the steel, mining, and infrastructure sectors, and ranks among the top six steel manufacturers in India.
