Intex launches Touch & Type smartphone

| | Apr 25, 2014, at 10:10 pm
New Delhi, Apr 25 (IBNS) Intex Technologies, India’s fastest growing mobile handset company, on Friday announced the launch of its first ever dual functionality smartphone, "Aqua Qwerty".

A unique feature of the phone is its combination of a touch-sensitive screen and a user-friendly typing qwerty interface, aimed at offering users more choices in the way they use their smartphones.

This ergonomically designed smartphone is equipped with a 3.5 HVGA display touch screen that makes navigating an easier task for users.

Coupled with a smooth and well spread Qwerty keypad targeting consumers in the above-45 age group who are more comfortable with a qwerty keypad , this smartphone is a joy for heavy text users as well as those who aim to upgrade their patterns of mobile consumption.

Though the handset market is flooded with myriad touch screen phones, few market studies suggest that 10 million, out of 50 million-plus smartphone users in India, prefer physical keypads as a majority of the pro-keypad population comprises middle-aged corporate honchos who answer hundreds of emails a day.

Interestingly, a touch-and-type combo smartphone is a bonus for an increasing number of women smartphone users who can now adapt to new age technologies and indulge in the world of multimedia and social networking, with no more than a few easy and convenient moves.

Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Business Head- Mobile, Intex, said: “Aqua Qwerty is one such product which offers the convenience of both touch and type features for users who are Qwerty lovers but wish to explore the touch experience at the same time."
