India's rich woman Roshni Nadar Malhotra takes charge as new chief of HCL Tech

Gurgaon:  Roshni Nadar Malhotra, who is currently the richest woman in India, has now taken charge as the chairperson of HCL Technologies.

The 38-year-old succeeded her father Shiv Nadar.

The appointment of non-executive director Roshni Nadar Malhotra to the new role takes effect immediately, the company said in a regulatory filing as reported by Hindustan Times.

Shiv Nadar will continue to serve as the HCL’s managing director with a new designation of chief strategy officer.

“...Shiv Nadar, who expressed his desire to step down from position of Chairman. Mr Nadar would continue to be MD of the Company with designation as Chief Strategy Officer,” the filing said.  

Roshni Nadar Malhotra has held the posts of executive director and CEO of HCL Corporation, vice chairperson of the board of HCL Technologies, and is also a trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, Hindustan Times reported.
