Indian Market: Sensex jumps 566.97 pts

The BSE Sensex on Tuesday registered a solid gains of 566.97 pts to close at 66,079.36 on the strength of Realty, Metal, Telecommunications and BSE services amid positive global cues.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 177.50 pts at 19,689.85.

The Sensex started ona positive note at 65,662.27, rising 150 pts.

It was spurted 668 pts at 66,180.17,days high, before closing at 66,079.36, advancing 566.97 pts from its previous close.

The stocks include Realty went up by 4.08 pc followed by Metal by 2.59 pc, Telecommunications by 2.24 pc and BSE services by 1.96 pc.

The gainers were Bharti Airtel up by 2.90 pc to be 951.65, Kotak Bank by 2.15 pc to Rs 1756.40, Tata Motors by 2.14 pc to Rs 630.60 and JSW Steel by 2.09 pc to Rs 772.95.

The losers were IndusInd Bank by 0.51 pc to Rs 1420.95, TCS by 0.22 pc to Rs 3629.20, Titan by 0.09 pc to Rs 3263.90 and Asian Paints by 0.05 pc to Rs 3151.65.

The Mid Cap rose by 1.14 pc and Small Cap by 1.26 pc.

In 30 scrips, 26 advanced while 4 declined.
