Indian Market: Sensex improves 35.75 pts

Mumbai/UNI: Snapping a losing streak of last two sessions, the BSE Sensex

on Monday registered a small gains of 35.75 pts at 50,441.07 pts on fresh buying in Metal, Industrials and Metal stocks.

The Nifty too moved up by 18.10 pts to 14,956.20.

Slumping by 1038 pts in last couple of sessions, the BSE Sensex opened higher by 249 pts at 50,654.02. During the day, it rallied by 580 pts to 50,985.77, days high, later it erased the earlier gains but managed to finish positive, posting a small gains of 35.75 pts to 50,441.07.

Meanwhile, it was dropped nearly 87 pts to 59,318.26, days low.

The Sensex registered days high and low at 50,985.77 and 50,318.26 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,111.15 and 14,919.90 pts.

The sectoral indices like Capital Goods, Metal, Industrials and Oil and Gas stocks pushed the market up, broker informed.

In scrips, L&T, ONGC, HCL Technologies , NTPC and Axis Bank went up while Bajaj finance, Bajaj Auto, IndusInd Bank and Ultracemco declined.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.30 pc and Small Cap by 0.63 pc.

In 30 scrips, 12 advanced, 17 declined while 1 remained unchanged.
