Indian Market: Sensex ends all-time-high at 66,060.90 pts

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex ended Friday at a historic high, touching the 66K level at 66,060.90, registering massive gains of 502.01 pts on strong global cues.

The Nifty too surged 150.75 points to 19,564.50.

The Sensex opened on a strong note at 65,775.49. It remained positive throughout the session. It registered a day high of 66,159.79, up 600 pts, before closing at 66,060.90, rising 502.01 pts from its previous close.

In stocks, IT was a star gainer, up 4.30 percent, followed by Technology by 3.74 percent, real estate by 1.19 percent, and Metal by 1.37 percent.

In scrips,TCS zoomed up 4.94 pc, followed by Tech Mahindra by 4.47 pc to Rs 1227.50, Infosys by 4.45 pc to Rs 1426, HCL Technology by 3.68 pc to Rs 1150, and Wipro by 2.70 pc to Rs 405.

The losers were M & M by 1.34 pc to Rs 1545.60, Powergrid by 1.01 pc to Rs 240.70, Titan by 0.66 pc to Rs 3065, and Maruti Suzuki by 0.46 pc to Rs 9608.55.

The midcap rose by 1 percent and the small cap by 1.14 percent.

In 30 scrips, 19 advanced, 10 declined, and one remained unchanged.

The Asian Market remained strong, with Strait Times up by 0.31 percent, Hang Seng by 0.33 percent, Taiwan by 1.29 percent, and Kospi by 1.41 percent.
