Indian Market: Sensex down over 100 points

Mumbai/UNI: After three days of rally, the BSE Sensex on Friday slipped 111 points to 58,696.71 to open at 58,696.71 on profit booking by local operators.

The Nifty too fell by 55.65 points at 17,461.20.

The Sensex registered the days high and low at 58,850.24 and 58,495.12 points respectively.

The Nifty registered the days high and low at 17,534.35 and 17,433.45 points respectively.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.15 per cent and Small Cap per cent 0.60 per cent.

In 30 scrips, 5 advanced , 24 declined and one remained unchanged.

The losers were Titan by 2.57 per cent to reach Rs 2312.50, Tech Mahindra by 1.72 per cent to reach Rs 1583.60, HDFC by 1.11 per cent to reach Rs 2810.40, Bajaj Finserv by 0.98 per cent to reach Rs 17,424.65 and Axis Bank by 0.85 per cent to reach Rs 688.15.

The gainers were Asian Paints by 3.06 per cent to reach Rs 3275.80, Sun Pharma by 1.74 per cent to reach Rs 772.65, M& M by 1.40 per cent to reach Rs 863 and Bharti Airtel by 0.32 per cent to reach Rs 716.55.
