Indian Market: Sensex down 19.69 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday fell further by 19.69 pts to settle at 51,309.39 pts as selling was witnessed in Telecom, Capital Goods, Power and Bankex stocks.

The Nifty too eased by 2.80 pts to 15,106.50.

In spite of high volatility the equity market ended on small losses only.

The sensex opened higher by 26 pts to 51,355. It rose to 51,512.86, days high advancing 183 pts.

Later, the sensex nosedived 489 pts to 50,846.25, days low. In late trade it was recovered from low figure and settled at 51,309.39, easing 19.69 pts from its previous close.

The sensex registered days high and low at 51,512.25 and 50,846.22 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 15,168.25 and 14,971.20 pts.

The sectoral indices that went down were Telecom, Capital Goods, Power and Bankex stocks.

The scrips that declined were HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel,Axis Bank, ONGC and Nestle India.

However, the scrips that supported the market were Bajaj Finserv, M& M, Bajaj finance and TCS.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.71 pc and small cap too increased by 0.42 pc.
In 30 scrips, 13 advanced while 17 declined.
