New Delhi: India and Denmark on Friday signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster cooperation in the energy sector, reinforcing their commitment to clean energy transitions and supporting India’s target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.

The new agreement comes ahead of the scheduled expiry of the original MoU, which was signed on June 5, 2020, and was set to end on June 5, 2025.

A statement from the Ministry of Power noted that the proactive renewal ensures the continuity of dialogue and collaboration, enabling both nations to seamlessly advance joint initiatives in energy development, reported PTI.

The MoU was signed by Power Secretary Pankaj Agarwal and Denmark’s Ambassador to India, Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen.

According to the ministry, the renewal reflects the strong, ongoing commitment of both countries to accelerate the shift towards sustainable energy systems.
