IITKGP students hit record employability with 200+ pre-placement offers at top MNCs
Offers have been pouring for final year students as an outcome of internships which the students went for during the Summer Recess, the statement said.
Companies like Goldman Sachs, Samsung, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Adobe Systems, Wipro have offered more than ten PPOs each. The placement season will begin on Dec 1.
"This is an encouraging sign for us that companies recognize our students’ hard work and motivation during the internship," said Debasis Deb, Professor in-charge of the Career Development Centre at IIT Kharagpur.
"Several factors influenced this excellence in the employability of students at IIT Kharagpur such as the versatility and wide choices in course curriculum available through flexible academic programmes, dedicated and experienced faculty strength and a strong presence of the alumni across most of recruiting organizations," the statement said.
"The diverse pool of students at the Institute, who, due to the distance from the nearest city, gets wide opportunities to be creative and motivated in their own ways which leads them to develop dynamic skill sets and sharpen their strengths. Also the balanced academic and extracurricular environment of the IIT Kharagpur campus adds value to their overall development," added Deb.
IITKGP has also received 200+ Internship offers for the pre-final year students for the summer of 2018. The Institute authorities expect to cross the tallies of yesteryears in Internship offers for the academic year 2017-18.
