IDBI Bank set to open more than 2 Lakh basic savings accounts
Mumbai, Aug 26 (IBNS): IDBI Bank has decided to be an active participant of the 'Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana' to support financial literacy and mobilize Basic Savings Bank Deposit Accounts (BSBDAs).
IDBI Bank plans to open more than 2 lakh basic savings accounts under this plan, which will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Aug 28.
On the occasion of Independence Day, the Prime Minister announced the launch of “Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana”, a national mission on financial inclusion ensuring access to banking services to all citizens and adequate credit to the underprivileged section of the society.
IDBI Bank will also be participating in all mega camps being organized at state and district level centres on August 28.
