Bengaluru/Denmark, Mar 14 (IBNS) Wipro Limited, a global information technology, consulting and business process services company, announced on Monday that it has won a multi-year engagement with NRGi, one of the top five utility providers in Denmark.

As part of the contract, Wipro will develop a new IT platform to transform the utility company's CRM, Billing and Service Bureau operations.

According to Wipro, currently Denmark is opening up its energy sector and reworking the regulatory framework to bring in more transparency for customers and pave the way for setting up a competitive market for energy suppliers and utility companies.

The new IT platform will help NRGi to comply with the new 'wholesale model' requirements in the Danish electricity market and also lay the foundation for future digital initiatives.

Wipro will design, build, host and deploy a Customer Information System (CIS) for NRGi in a Platrom as a Service model. The CIS as service solution is based on is based on Oracle's Customer Care and Billing Platform, Meter Data Management Platform, and Oracle CX solutions.

Geert Rieder, CEO, NRGi Infrastructure AS said, "We have been looking to develop new CRM platform that can offer a tool for simpler and more efficient communication with our customers."

Carl-Henrik Hallstrom, Nordic Region Head, Wipro Ltd said, "We are delighted to have been chosen as NRGi's IT partner. We are confident that our extensive domain experience in the energy and utilities sector along with our expertise in the integration of Oracle solutions will help us enable  NRGI's growth objectives."
