BC Jindal Group’s Jindal (India) Limited completes Rs 1,500-crore Capex Investment in West Bengal with commissioning of new high-speed colour coating line

Jindal (India) Limited, part of the BC Jindal Group and one of India’s leading downstream steel products manufacturers, has announced the successful commissioning of its new state-of-the-art high-speed Continuous Colour Coating Line (CCL) at its Ranihati manufacturing complex in Howrah district, West Bengal.

This milestone follows a series of significant operational advancements. Earlier, in February 2026, the company commissioned a state-of-the-art galvanizing coating line, cold rolling mill, and pickling facility. With the commissioning of the new Colour Coating Line, Jindal (India) has successfully completed its ambitious Rs 1,500-crore capital expenditure programme in West Bengal.

As part of its broader expansion strategy, the BC Jindal Group, led by promoter Shyam Sunder Jindal, had entered into a supply agreement with John Cockerill India in FY25 for the advanced Colour Coating Line. The facility is expected to deliver an annual output of 2,75,000 tonnes.

The company projects a 75% surge in revenue in FY27, driven by expanded production capacity, which will reach 60,000 tonnes per month — a 76% increase over current levels.

“The commissioning of this new line, as part of our larger expansion strategy, reflects our unwavering commitment to meeting India’s evolving infrastructure needs. As a market leader in the downstream steel products manufacturing space, JIL, with this new line, will transition into a high-volume player while continuing to deliver premium products through world-class manufacturing,” a spokesperson for Jindal (India) Limited said.

The newly commissioned Colour Coating Line features a multi-stage cleaning section, tension leveller, chemical coating system, drying and paint coating units with curing ovens and regenerative thermal oxidiser (RTO), an inspection station, and a cold laminator.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the line can process a wide range of steel strip thicknesses and widths, producing diverse coated products with Polyester, RMP, SMP, Epoxy, PVC, PU, PVDF, and Teflon paint coatings through high-speed continuous processing.

Jindal (India) operates two modern manufacturing facilities in Howrah, West Bengal, with capabilities spanning advanced colour coating and metal coating technologies.

The company offers a diversified product portfolio across three key divisions — sheets, pipes, and aluminium foil.

With flagship brands such as Jindal Sabrang and Jindal NeuColor+, Jindal (India) commands a dominant position in the colour-coated sheets market, particularly in Eastern India, while maintaining a strong national presence.

Currently, coated flat steel products account for nearly 70% of the company’s total production and remain a key focus area for its future growth and expansion strategy.
