Assam exempts 1% cess on spices and condiments
Guwahati, Oct 31 (IBNS) : The Assam Agriculture Department has withdrawn 1% cess levied on spices and condiments like coriander, turmeric, black pepper, cereal, chilli, ginger, cumin seed and others under section 53 of the Assam Agricultural Produce Market Act, 1972.
The order has been issued at the directive of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to provide relief to the farmers.
The order comes into force with immediate effect.
