Air New Zealand has appointed Nikhil Ravishankar, its current Chief Digital Officer, as the airline’s next Chief Executive Officer, India Today reported.

He will succeed Greg Foran on October 20, following Foran’s decision to step down announced earlier in March.

Ravishankar, of Indian origin, has been with the airline for nearly five years, leading major digital, customer experience, and loyalty initiatives.

Air New Zealand Chair Dame Therese Walsh said the appointment reflects renewal and momentum, praising Ravishankar’s leadership, digital expertise, and deep understanding of the airline.

Ravishankar said he was “thrilled and humbled” to take on the role, calling it a privilege to lead an airline with a deep legacy and promising future.

Before joining Air New Zealand, he held leadership roles at Vector New Zealand, Accenture, and Telecom New Zealand (now Spark).
