Air India joins Ahmedabad with Newark via London

New Delhi, Aug 15 (IBNS): Giving a new gift to the people of Gujarat on Independence Day, nation carrier Air India on Monday launched the Ahmedabad-Newark via London tri-weekly flight.

The first flight-AI-171- took off from Ahmedabad city.

Gujarat Revenue Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama handed over the first boarding pass to the passengers of the flight.

"Hon'ble Min. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama,MP Dr Kirit Solanki & #AI CMD Mr. Lohani,giving boarding pass to pax for #AI171," Air India tweeted.

"Long pending demand from the people of #Gujarat has been fulfilled," the Minister said.

The national carrier tweeted: "#AI family wishes #ShubhYatra to all the pax on board #AI171 on the first #AMDLHREWR flt! #FlyAIDirect."
