Rajasthan registers 23 new Omicron cases

Jaipur/UNI: Rajasthan on Wednesday reported 23 new cases of Omicron, taking the new variant of tally to 69.

According to the State Health Department, 10 cases were reported in Ajmer, nine in Jaipur, two in Bhilwara and one in Jodhpur on Wednesday.

These new patients have been admitted to dedicated Omicron wards.

Four new cases were foreign returnees.

Three came in contact with these returnees.

Two cases were reported among those who returned from other states.

Two came in contact with the returnees from these states.

One case is a contact of an earlier Omicron patients that came to light on contact tracing.

Maximum Omicron cases have been reported from Jaipur (39), followed by Ajmer (17) , four each are in Sikar and Udaipur, two in Bhilwara and one in Jodhpur apart from one more in the state.

Of the total, 44 patients have fully recovered so far, health officials said.
