Hyderabad/UNI:  All India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA) on Wednesday appealed to customers to visit bank branches only for their urgent needs.

'Your normal banking needs can wait, please appreciate that bank employees' health and safety are equally important', AIBEA said in a message.

In the wake of 21-day nation-wide lockdown due to Covid-19, 'We commit ourselves to the cause of people and nation at this critical hour of National Heath Crisis.

We commit to serve you (customers) despite risk to the staff', the AIBEA said.

Help us to serve you. Please cooperate and respect the health safety of bank staff, It added.

Meanwhile, Indian Banks'Association (IBA) in an appeal said with the impact of Coronavirus being felt across the country, the aim of IBA and its member banks is to ensure the customers that they are still provided with uninterrupted banking services.

It said we will continue providing the banking services to customers, however, we appeal to every one, to visit the branch premises only in case of absolute necessity.

Our employees are also facing the same challenges that you all are and so, we seek for your help too.

The IBA said most of the services the banks offer are available online. Our sincere request to you (customers) is, for non-essential services, avail them through the mobile and online banking channels.

We are working round-the-clock to ensure all our digital channels are up-to-date and have all the information that you may need during this period.

As a measure to serve customers better, all banks had undertaken essential activities from March 23 like Cash Deposits and Withdrawals, Clearing of Cheques, Remittances and Government transactions, the IBA said and requested all the customers to bear with them as other non-essential services during this period may be suspended.
