Singapore India's Largest Source of FDI
According to the Indian government's statement, Singapore is India's largest source of foreign direct investment (FDI), with cumulative inflows of approximately USD 194.68 billion between April 2000 and March 2026.
Singaporean institutional investors, including the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) and Temasek Holdings, have substantial investments across various sectors of the Indian economy.
As part of her engagement with the investment community, Sitharaman will interact with leading Singaporean and international investors, financial institutions and business leaders through a roundtable with hedge fund and portfolio fund managers, along with a series of Government-to-Business (G2B) meetings.
The discussions will provide an opportunity for global investors to exchange views on India's economic growth prospects, investment opportunities and the evolving global economic and financial landscape.

The Finance Minister is also scheduled to hold one-to-one meetings with senior executives of leading global financial institutions, investment firms and healthcare companies.
Those expected to participate include the chief executive officers of GIC, Temasek Holdings, DBS Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, British International Investment (BII), IHH Healthcare Berhad, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) for the Asia-Pacific region, B Capital and HPS Investment Partners.

NIIF, GIFT City to Facilitate Investment
Platforms such as the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) and Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) could provide additional avenues for Singaporean investors to expand their participation in India through investment vehicles and funds.
The Ministry of Finance, in coordination with relevant ministries and industry bodies, will facilitate connections between interested Singaporean investors and Indian companies, financial institutions and state governments. It will also provide the necessary support to advance identified investment opportunities.
The visit underscores India's commitment to deepening its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Singapore, with a particular focus on translating strong bilateral political ties into increased investment, business partnerships and tangible economic outcomes.
