The Indian market ends slightly higher on Tuesday

Mumbai, Mar 20 (IBNS): Key Indian benchmark indices closed slightly higher on Tuesday with BSE Sensex up 73.64 points at 32,996.76 and NSE Nifty up 30.10 points at 10,124.40.

Top gainers on Tuesday included Bharti Infratel, Tech Mahindra, Eicher Motors, Tata Steel, Wipro, Adani Ports, Dr Reddy's Labs and Sun Pharma  while Vedanta, ONGC, BPCL, Cipla, ICIC! Bank, Yes Bank, Reliance, NTPC and UtraTech Cement were some of the key stocks that declined.

On Tuesday, Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs, Ananthkumar announced that the Union government has approved the setting up of a Plastic Park in Deoghar District, Jharkhand.

The project will be set up at a cost of Rs. 120 crores in an area of 150 acres and a range of polymer products, including woven sacks, moulded furniture, water tanks, bottles, pipes mosquito nets, etc will be manufactured.

It has great potential for attracting investment for setting up an ecosystem for plastic industry and generate employment opportunities for the local populace, the Minister said.
