Sensex rallies by 388 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The benchmark index of Bombay stock exchange on Monday rallied by 388 points to 36,410.03 in opening trade on firm global peers.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 128.65 points to 10,730.

The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 36,466.95 and 36,254.02 pts, respectively.

The sectoral indices that kept the rally intact for the fourth session on the strength of Materials, Finance, Bankex and Capital Goods stocks.

The Nifty registered intra-day high and low at 10,753.85 and 10,695.10 pts respectively.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.96 pc and Small Cap was up by 1.08 pc.

In 30 scrips, 26 advanced while 4 declined.

The gainers were Indusind Bank by 4.19 pc to Rs 507.65, M& M by 3.87 pc to Rs 550.80, HDFC Bank by 3.17 pc to Rs 1108.30, Tata Steel by 2.74 pc to Rs 339 and Tech Mahindra by 2.73 pc to Rs 582.50.

The losers were Bajaj Auto by 1.26 pc to Rs 2897.30, Hind Unilever by 0.76 pc to Rs 2155.80, Sun Pharma by 0.58 pc to Rs 474.15 and Powergrid by 0.48 pc to Rs 176.85.
