Sensex extends rally for third session, surges 363.20 pts

Extending rally for the third session the BSE Sensex on Monday spurted 363.20 pts to close at 74014.55 on renewed buying in Realty, Metal and Commodities stocks amid strong global cues.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) went up 135.10 pts at 22,462.

The NSE registered days high and low at 22,529.95 and 22,427.75 pts respectively.

The Sensex opened at 73968.62, rising 317 pts. During the day it was rallied 603 pts at 74,254.62 days high, before closing 74,014.55, advancing 363.20 pts from its previous close.

The stocks that shined were Realty by 4.18 pc followed by Telecommunication by 3.44 pc, Metal by 3.39 pc and Commodities by 2.91 pc.

The Mid cap rose by 1.64 pc while Small Cap fell by 2.98 pc.

In 30 scrips, 20 advanced, while 10 declined.

The gainers were JSW Steel by 4.88 pc to Rs 871.90, Tata Steel by 4.36 pc to Rs 162.70, Ultracemco by 2.38 pc to Rs 9971.35 and NTPC by 1.82 pc to Rs 342.05.

The losers were Titan by 1.57 pc to Rs 3745, Nestle India Ltd by 1.22 pc to Rs 2591.20, Bharti Airtel by 0.82 pc to Rs 1218.95 and IndusInd bank by 0.77 pc to Rs 1543.75.
