RBI governor Shakti Kanta Das meets Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

New Delhi, June 19 (IBNS): Reserve Bank of India Governor Shakti Kanta Das called on Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday.

" RBI Governor, Shri @ShaktiKantaDas called on the Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs, Smt @nsitharaman in her office in North Block in New Delhi today: @nsitharamanoffc @PIB_India @MIB_India," the Ministry of Finance tweeted.

The meeting assumes significance as Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on July 5.

She took oath as the new Finance Minister of the country after the BJP-led NDA government came to power at the Centre by winning the Lok Sabha polls recently.

This will be her first Budget presentation as the Finance Minister.

The Monsoon Session of the Parliament started on Monday.
