Nifty posts one-month lowest closing, Indian benchmarks close lower on Thursday
Mumbai, Aug 10 (IBNS): The Indian market closed lower on Thursday with BSE Sensex down 266.51 points at 31,531.33 and NSE Nifty down 87.80 points at 9,820.25.
Even though NSE Nifty managed to clamber back from its intraday low of 9,776.20, the Thursday closing was its one-month lowest, according to media reports.
Top gainers on Thursday included Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, TCS, HCL Tech, Larsen, Kotak Mahindra and M&M while Tata Motors, BHEL, Dr Reddy's Labs, Sun Pharma, GAIl, Eicher Motors and Adani Ports declined.
