Magadh Sugar & Energy Q1 results: MSEL records key financial updates for June quarter

| @indiablooms | Aug 29, 2026, at 11:47 am

Kolkata/IBNS: Magadh Sugar & Energy Limited (MSEL) has announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, with the company’s Board of Directors taking the results on record at its meeting held on August 4, 2026.

Financial Highlights:

Q1FY27

  • Total Income in Q1 FY27 at Rs. 311.27 Cr as against Rs. 333.88 Cr in Q1 FY26.
  • EBITDA in Q1 FY27 at Rs. 1.46 Cr as against Rs. 19.92 Cr in Q1 FY26.
  • PAT in Q1 FY27 at Rs. (12.22) Cr as against Rs. 0.22 Cr in Q1 FY26.

Commenting on the results, C.S. Nopany, Chairperson, Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd said: “Bihar’s sugar industry is witnessing renewed policy support, with the State focusing on the revival and modernisation of the sector through integrated Sugar, Ethanol and Co-generation projects.

“The Sugarcane Industry Investment Promotion Policy 2026 aims to attract fresh investments, restore closed sugar mills, strengthen processing infrastructure, and enhance the competitiveness of the State’s sugar ecosystem. ”
“While the sector outlook remains constructive, higher sugarcane procurement costs continue to exert pressure on mill margins, making improvements in sugar recovery, product realisation, and earnings from by-products increasingly critical to sustaining profitability.

In line with this strategy, the modification of the Narkatiaganj Sugar Plant from the sulphitation process to a refinery is expected to improve sugar quality and enhance realisations. Further, the installation of an incineration boiler at the Narkatiaganj Distillery Plant will enable the distillery to operate for approximately 340 days annually, strengthening operational efficiency and supporting higher capacity utilisation.”
