L&T Construction wins orders valued Rs. 3355 Crore

Mumbai, Dec 26 (IBNS): The Buildings & Factories Business of L&T Construction has bagged orders worth Rs. 3355 crore.

The business has won a prestigious order from the ‘India International Convention & Exhibition Centre Limited’ to design and construct a state-of-the-art India International Convention & Expo Center (IICC) in New Delhi.

The mega project is planned over 89 hectares of land in Dwarka, New Delhi and will feature world class infrastructure facilities like exhibition spaces, convention areas, hotels, commercial offices, retail spaces and a 20,000 capacity multi-purpose arena.

The facilities will be at par with the best in the world and will offer an exquisite ambiance and high quality setting for international as well as national meetings, conferences, exhibitions and trade shows.

“This is an extremely prestigious and important project for us considering the size and scale of the project as envisaged by our client,” said S. N. Subrahmanyan, CEO & MD – Larsen & Toubro.

“It will give us an opportunity to showcase our expertise in design, construction and project management of mega projects and we are confident of delivering the expo centre on time and with international quality standards,” he added.

Apart from the detailed design, L&T’s scope of works also includes civil construction, MEP, architectural finishes, ICT networks, landscape including automated irrigation systems and drainage systems.

The project is slated to be completed within stringent timelines.

Upon completion, the IICC will stand as an iconic symbol of the country’s architectural repository. The business has also secured a prestigious order to construct a major retail development in Navi Mumbai for IKEA, the Swedish home furnishings retailer.

The construction for the proposed development will start in early 2018 and will offer two levels of parking, two levels of retail, one level of double height warehouse and a section for food and beverage. L&T’s scope includes construction of the entire civil structure, architecture works (RCC plus structural steel, Interiors), metal façade, metal roofing, MEP and external development works.

The business has secured another order to construct the prestigious “Viveka Tirtha” - Ramakrishna Mission Center for Human Excellence at Kolkata.

The proposed “Viveka Tirtha” will constitute a school of language with a language laboratory, a digital library, auditorium, exhibition halls and hostels.

The auditorium of Viveka Tirtha will be a replica of the famous Art Institute of Chicago, USA. L&T’s scope of works will include civil construction, MEP and external development.
