Kia Motors launches Seltos in Kolkata, price starts at Rs. 9.69 lakhs

Kolkata, Aug 23 (IBNS): With the festive season ahead, South Korean auto major Kia Motors launched the first made in India mid-SUV, Kia Seltos, in Kolkata on Friday.

The car was launched at an introductory price of 9.69 lakh.

Right from its launch, the Seltos will be BS-VI compliant, the company said.

Seltos, a mid-sized SUV, has been manufactured at the Ananthpur plant of the company in India.

The model is available in India in both petrol and diesel variants.

Yong S Kim, Executive Director & CSO, Kia Motors India said till date over thirty-two thousand bookings of the model have been made.

"We are confident about our product," he said.

The car has been launched in India at a time when the domestic automotive industry is facing the worst slowdown in more than a decade.

Speaking on the matter, he said: "Industry slowdown is there but we believe it is temporary."

He expressed confidence in the revival of the situation.

The car will be available in India in eight colour varieties.
