Indian market closes last day of 2017 on positive note

Mumbai, Dec 29 (IBNS): The Indian market ended 2017 on a strong note, with BSE Sensex up 208.80 points at 34,056.83 and the NSE Nifty up 52.80 points at 10,530.70, on Friday.

Top gainers included Idea Cellular, Tata Motors, Tata Motors (D), Hero Motocorp, Axis Bank, Bharti Infratel and TCS while GAIL, BPCL, HPCL, Dr Reddy's Labs, Tata Steel, Reliance, Vedanta and Zee Entertainment were some of the key stocks that declined.

Meanwhile, on Friday, the Lok Sabha passed a bill to amend the Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code.
