New Delhi, Sept 11 (IBNS): A delegation of 62 female entrepreneurs from India, representing the Ladies Association of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), is in Israel this week. FICCI FLO chose Israel as their destination this year, arranging the program with the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi and Israel- Asia Chamber of Commerce.

The delegation is touring Israel and meeting Israeli industry leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators. It is headed by Harjinder Kaur, president of FICCI FLO and founder and CEO of Comvision, a software production company specializing in accessible governance and software solutions for the transport sector.

The visit is a result of the ongoing activities of the embassy with the organization, which aims to encourage business cooperation with added economic and social value by encouraging women to participate in the entrepreneurial world.

Ambassador of Israel in India, Dr. Ron Malka, said “We are very proud to host such an important business delegation from India. This will encourage collaborations between female entrepreneurs and businesswomen of both the countries. I expect more business interactions and opportunities to come in the near future. The people to people connection is the foundation for cooperation in every field, and therefore it is important to have Indians and Israelis come in contact as much as possible.”

On Tuesday, 10 September 2019, FICCI FLO and Israel- Asia Chamber of Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to carry out activities towards the promotion of trade exchange and investment between Indian and Israeli women with the purpose of deepening existing economic relations.

Also, Ambassador Yael Ravia-Zadok, MFA Deputy Director-General of the Economic Affairs Division and Israel-India Chamber of Commerce Chairperson Anat Bernstein-Reich hosted a business forum at the MFA in Jerusalem to introduce the Indian delegates to Israeli counterparts with interests covering a wide range of fields, with the aim of encouraging discussion and sharing and finding common interface points.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs is collaborating with major Indian chambers of commerce and industry and the Israel-India Chamber of Commerce in a bid to promote, encourage and empower women in the business sector and to increase commerce between the two countries.

Israel, the Startup Nation, has developed extensive entrepreneurship and innovation scene with more than 5,000 start-ups and tech companies responsible to some of the most ground breaking technological developments of today. It holds the highest number of startups per capita, and all major international companies have development centers in Israel to tap into Israeli knowledge and capabilities.
