Essar Steel India records 29% Q-o-Q growth in flat steel production in Q1 FY 2017-18
The total production stood at 1.57 million tonnes in Q1FY18 compared to 1.21 million tonnes in the corresponding period last year. Pellet production also grew by 36% to 2.75 million tonnes compared to 2.02 million tonnes in the same quarter last year.
The supplies to OEM segment including auto, white and yellow goods registered a growth of 64% at 2.05 lakh tonnes in Q1 FY18 compared to 1.25 lakh tonnes in the same period last year.
PPGI (Pre Painted Galvanised Iron) production was the highest ever in a quarter, 84.8 KT — up by 8.3% when compared to 78 KT produced in the corresponding period last year.
