Common Service Centres gear up for smooth GST roll out

New Delhi, May 29 (IBNS): A Workshop for Common Service Centres (CSC) to enable them to smoothly roll-out GST services began in New Delhi on Monday.

Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology and Law & Justice, Ravi Shankar Prasad inaugurated the workshop and released a publication.

The Union Minister appreciated the role of CSCs in enabling various services to citizens and said that he hoped CSCs will help Govt in rolling out GST, according to media reports.

CSCs are a strategic cornerstone of the Digital India programme. They are the access points for delivery of various electronic services to villages in India.

In a separate event in Bengaluru on Monday, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that GST will minimise harassement to honest  tax payers.
