Abir Chatterjee joins Anil Balaji Steel as brand ambassador; company unveils Rs 500 crore growth plan

Kolkata/IBNS: Anil Balaji Steel, which completed five decades of operations, on Friday unveiled its expansion roadmap, announcing plans to enter Odisha and Uttar Pradesh and target a turnover of over Rs 500 crore by 2030.

The company plans to invest around Rs 200 crore to strengthen its presence in the domestic market and expand its manufacturing capacity. Founder and Chairman Anil Kumar Agarwal said the company is on the verge of acquiring factories in Odisha and Uttar Pradesh as part of its expansion strategy.

"We aim to establish our presence in Odisha and Uttar Pradesh by 2030 and are on the verge of acquiring factories in these states to expand our manufacturing capacity," Agarwal said.

The company also plans to increase its workforce from the current 175 employees to more than 500 by 2030. Its fabricator network is expected to expand to 50,000 during the same period.

As part of its next phase of growth, Anil Balaji Steel also announced plans to expand its manufacturing facility in Jangalpur, Howrah, while strengthening its market presence across West Bengal and other parts of the country.

Abir Chatterjee named brand ambassador

The company announced actor Abir Chatterjee as its new brand ambassador during the event.

Chatterjee said he was proud to be associated with a company that has been part of Bengal's industrial journey for five decades.

"Bengal has always shown resilience and strength, and for the last fifty years, the Anil Balaji Steel family has been a part of that. From now on being a part of this family, is a very proud moment for me," he said.

Referring to his popular character Byomkesh, Chatterjee said the character's qualities of resilience and righteousness had a connection with the values associated with the company.

New business vertical Fabrica launched

The company also unveiled its new business vertical, Fabrica, along with its website and logo.

Fabrica will focus on functional steel solutions for modern spaces, including automated gates, pre-engineered buildings, grills, railings, pergolas, cabanas and architectural façade designs.

CEO Viren Agarwal said the company is focused on strengthening manufacturing capabilities, entering new markets and preparing the organisation for its planned growth.

"Our target is to reach Rs 500 crore in turnover by 2030 and the investments planned to support this growth reflect the direction we have set for Anil Balaji Steel," he said.

The company also plans to raise funds through an SME initial public offering (IPO) within the next three years.

Established in 1975, Anil Balaji Steel manufactures rolling shutter solutions, shutter profiles, components and accessories, MS and GP pipes, GP sheets, GP coils, roofing solutions and fabrication solutions.
