With fresh ED raids in Partha aide Arpita Mukherjee premises, Bengal SSC scam recovery touches Rs. 50 cr besides gold
Kolkata/IBNS: The Enforcement Directorate probing a teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal in its ongoing raids so far has recovered over Rs. 50 crore cash besides gold jewellery and bars from two flats of Arpita Mukherjee, an aide of now jailed state minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) secretary general Partha Chatterjee.
After Rs. 21 crore in Arpita's Tollygunge flat, the ED Wednesday recovered around Rs. 29 crore from the small-time Bengali actor's another flat located in Belgharia.

Earlier, the ED claimed to have learned explosive details related to the teacher recruitment scam from a black diary recovered from Arpita's house.
ED sources have revealed that the 40 pages in the diary have so much written that it could blow the lid off the secrets related to the SSC scam, according to an India Today report.
Both Partha Chatterjee and Arpita Chatterjee are in ED's custody following their arrest under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering (PMLA) Act.
Chatterjee will be in the custody of the investigating agency till Aug 3.
Arpita has reportedly told investigators that the money was kickback from the state's massive teacher recruitment scam.
She also alleged that only Chatterjee and his men had access to the room where the cash was kept. They used to come once every 10 days.
The recent incident has caught the ruling TMC, led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, off-guard with the party jumping to distance itself from Chatterjee and the cash recovered from Arpita's flat.
