West Bengal: Eight policemen hurt as people attack them for stopping them from bursting crackers in Bally

Howrah/UNI: Eight policemen were injured, two of them seriously, when they were attacked by some people after they were stopped from bursting crackers on their house top in Bally area in West Bengal on Thursday.

Among the wounded, two policemen were admitted to Howrah general Hospital.

Police arrested five people in connection with the incident.

They will be produced before a local court later on Friday.

The incident happened at Hempar Lane under Bally police station.

Policemen went to their house when they were bursting crackers, but they refused to listen to the cops and said they were not bursting fire crackers in a public place.

The policemen were then attacked by them.
