Gurugram biker hit by car: Two including main accused arrested after viral road rage video, attempt to murder case filed

Kalyan Bainsla, the driver, along with co-accused Lavnish Gurjar have been arrested from Rajasthan's Dausa after police registered an attempt to murder case against the two based on CCTV footage, according to reports.

The incident was captured on a camera mounted on the motorcycle of the woman, identified as Sia, and was later shared by her on Instagram.

What happened on Golf Course Road?

According to Sia, she was riding her sports bike with members of her biking group on Golf Course Road when a car allegedly began following her.

She said she initially asked the driver to maintain a safe distance. However, the driver allegedly refused and instead asked her to stop.

Sia further claimed that the occupants of the car appeared to be drunk.

While one of her friends attempted to shield her during the ride, the car allegedly accelerated and tried to overtake her. In the process, it allegedly struck her motorcycle and sped away.

The impact threw Sia off the bike, while her motorcycle was dragged several metres along the road.

Car occupants allegedly refused responsibility

Sia said her friend later confronted the occupants of the car at a traffic signal. However, they allegedly refused to accept responsibility for the collision and drove away.

The incident was recorded by a camera mounted on Sia's motorcycle, providing footage of the alleged collision.

‘I felt unsafe on Gurugram roads’

Sharing the video on Instagram, Sia described the incident as a frightening experience and said she felt unsafe on the roads of Gurugram.

“I have nothing to say, but today I felt unsafe on Gurugram roads. People like these aren’t afraid of hitting people and running away,” she wrote.

Sia also shared details of the car involved in the incident and urged that the person responsible be held accountable.

The video has since drawn widespread attention on social media, with users expressing concern over road safety and alleged reckless driving.

Unintentional, says accused

Kalyan Bainsla claimed he did not hit the bike intentionally adding that the two bikers were repeatedly overtaking his car, moving ahead and then slowing down.

Speaking to India Today, Bainsla said, "I did not hit them intentionally."

"They were repeatedly coming in front of me and then slowing down the bike," he said. "Am I going around hitting everyone? You can check the CCTV," he added, claiming the viral videos do not present the entire picture.
