Warships, air operations and special forces: India-Sri Lanka naval exercise ends
The 13th edition of the India-Sri Lanka bilateral maritime exercise, SLINEX-26, concluded at Visakhapatnam on September 21.
Conducted from September 17 to 21, the exercise provided opportunities for professional interactions, the exchange of best practices and enhanced interoperability between the Indian Navy and the Sri Lanka Navy.
The harbour phase featured professional exchanges, cross-deck visits and sporting interactions between personnel of the two navies.
The sea phase involved coordinated maritime manoeuvres, air operations, night replenishment at sea and Special Forces drills, including Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) and slithering operations.
These activities provided valuable opportunities for the participating forces to strengthen operational coordination and enhance interoperability.
SLINEX-26 reflects the strong maritime partnership between India and Sri Lanka and their shared commitment to maintaining a secure and stable Indian Ocean Region.
The exercise contributes to India's vision of MAHASAGAR and its Neighbourhood First policy by strengthening maritime cooperation, interoperability and capacity building.
